The AP French Language Exam
|
|
| |
Exam Content
Although French was among the first AP offerings in 1956, it consisted of just one course and exam that contained both a language and a literature component. In 1970, AP French was split into two exams, AP French Language and AP French Literature, and each year more and more students have been challenging themselves by taking these AP courses and exams.
The goal of the AP French Language Exam is to evaluate how well students understand written and spoken French, and their ability to respond in correct and idiomatic French. With the exception of directions, French is used exclusively in the exam materials and in student responses. Use of dictionaries or other reference works during the exam is not permitted.
